Inline Nitrogen Gas Heater

There are many safety features incorporated into the inline nitrogen gas heater. For example, the heater has an upper limit and process thermocouple to regulate and maintain the temperature. In addition, there is a thermal cut-off sensor to prevent overheating and a ground wire. Finally, the heater has an additional option to be equipped with a microprocessor-based temperature controller in a NEMA-rated external switch enclosure.

Given that this project required a horizontally mounted system, a dual skid mounted circulation heater with 900# ANSI stainless steel flanges was designed. Circulation heaters are ideal for process heating as liquid or gas enters the vessel inlet and exits at the desired target temperature. Thermocouples can be installed at the outlet to more effectively regulate the gas temperature. Slip flanges can also be installed to mate with any existing intake piping. Perforated baffles allow the gas to flow without any interference. Sometimes, thermocouples are placed in bundles of tubular elements welded to the flanges. The purpose of this is to prevent overheating of the elements. A temperature controller can more adequately regulate the intensity of the heat.

This heater design reduces overall system cost and complexity. Due to its high power density, it can provide ultra-fast response, resulting in higher system performance. Using patented thermal spray technology, this heater generates heat using its entire surface, thereby optimizing heat transfer and temperature uniformity.
